Dunlops’ invited top touring car drivers to the Tamworth Snowdome to highlight the importance of safe winter driving this month.
To aid in educating the national and motoring media on the benefits of fitting winter tyres, the brand held a winter tyre demonstration on the popular Tamworth ski slopes.
The British Touring Car drivers were all invited to drive the two Honda Civics up the 12 degree slope, one fitted with standard Dunlop summer tyres and the other the latest Dunlop WinterSport 3D winter tyre. The difference was apparent, with the summer tyre shod Honda Civic struggling from the off, whilst the Dunlop WinterSport 4D graciously ascending the incline effortlessly.
The new Dunlop SP WinterSport 4D incorporates a range of new innovations designed especially to enhance safety and provide feedback ensuring driving confidence regardless of the weather conditions.
A bit of fun was later had by all as Dunlop hosted a ‘Tobbogan Race’ between three of the British Touring Car drivers; reigning champion Gordon shedden and touring car newcomers Frank Wrathall and Rob Austin, in an effort to determine who had the best Tobogganing skill and grip.
